Hans BRATTRUD

In 1957, he founded his own industrial design company, H. Brattrud møbelfabrikk, which produced the famous "Scandia" chair in 1957. This chair was a great commercial success and became an icon of Norwegian design in the 1950s and 1960s.

In addition to the "Scandia", Brattrud also designed a series of plywood furniture, as well as chrome-plated steel furniture for the Italian company Stilwood. He also worked as a professor of industrial design at the National School of Art and Crafts in Oslo.

Brattrud died in 1987 at the age of 54, but his legacy in the world of Norwegian industrial design continues to be recognized and celebrated today.
