Jieldé lamps are icons of 20th-century design. Particularly sought-after, they are renowned for their high quality and durability. The most famous model is the "1200 Standard", designed in 1951. Jean-Louis Domecq was born in France in 1920. In the second half of the 1940s, Domecq realized that there was a lack of lighting fixtures to meet the demands of his work as a mechanic. He designed a lamp adapted to his needs. After several trials, the definitive model saw the light of day in 1950. The following two years enabled him to industrialize production. In 1953, he founded the Jieldé company, a name directly inspired by his initials. Today, the Standard lamp continues to be produced, but is no longer reduced to its industrial role. It is now called the Loft lamp. The Signal and Augustin models are also references among lighting fixtures. Still made in France, and more specifically in Lyon, Jieldé lamps are renowned for their simplicity, adaptability and sturdiness.
