After working briefly for design companies in Germany, Renz moved to Milan, Italy, where he worked as a freelance designer for several years. He worked for companies such as Zanotta, Cassina and Bernini. In 1970, Renz returned to Germany to found his own design company, called Renz Büromöbel. The company focused on the design and manufacture of high-quality office furniture for companies and public institutions. Renz designed many successful products for the company, including conference tables, office chairs and storage systems. Over the years, Renz received numerous awards for his design work, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2001. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 81. His company continues to produce high-quality office furniture according to the principles of design and innovation established by Renz himself.
