Tove and Edvard KINDT-LARSEN

Tove studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a textile designer before starting to collaborate with her husband Edvard in the 1930s. Edvard had studied at the Copenhagen Academy of Fine Arts and worked as an architect before turning to interior design.

Their style was influenced by the aesthetics of modernism, but they also incorporated traditional design elements into their work. They created elegant, functional furniture for leading Danish design companies such as Fritz Hansen and porcelain firm Bing & Grøndahl. Their creations include chairs, tables, sofas, tapestries, lamps and ceramic objects.

Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen have won several awards for their design work, including the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1951. Their work is considered part of the golden age of Danish design in the 1940s and 1950s.
