Over the course of his career, Enzo Mari designed numerous products for renowned brands such as Danese, Artemide, Zanotta and Alessi. He was known for his minimalist and functional approach to design, as well as for his desire to make design accessible to all. Enzo Mari was also a committed campaigner for the democratization of design. In 1974, he published a book entitled "Autoprogettazione", in which he proposed simple plans for making one's own wooden furniture from rough planks. In addition to his work as a designer, Enzo Mari also realized artistic projects and exhibited his work in art galleries in Italy and around the world. His work has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Compasso d'Oro, one of the most important prizes in Italian design.
