Rare teak and leather armchair model 49 by Erik Kirkegaard for Høng Stolefabrik from 1956. Rounded sculptular back rest curves into each armrest and is attached by a unique joint. Solid teak frame has been refreshed and there is new, black, aniline leather on the seat

Erik Kirkegaard (1925-1982) was a Danish designer known for his work on wooden and rattan furniture. He studied at the Royal Danish School of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and worked for several Danish furniture manufacturers.
