About this vintage design furniture
Wall lamp Diabolo articulated by René Mathieu for Lunel, 1950. Its red lacquered reclining reflector is perforated with stars on board. Double steerable arm and wall base with brass switch. Lamp in very good general condition, has some time-related marks. Functional original electricity.

About the designer
René MATHIEU
René Mathieu was a French designer born in Nancy in 1905 and died in 1969. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy before moving to Paris to work as a theater decorator. He also worked for Galeries Lafayette, where he was responsible for creating window displays and exhibition stands.
