About this vintage design furniture
Large run of 1960s teak modular shelving system ‘Pira’ designed by Olaf Pira for String of Sweden. Designed as a ‘tension’ system each upright trapped between the floor and ceiling, making it suitable for room dividing as each of the cabinets and shelves are finished both sides. Regarding its layout, the possibilities are endless - the photos illustrate the set in its entirety.

Olof PIRA
Olof PIRA is a contemporary Swedish designer known for his work with the String furniture brand. He studied design at Lund University before embarking on a career as a freelance designer. PIRA has worked with String since 2013 and has created several iconic pieces for the brand, including the String Pocket modular bookcase and the String Works wall console.
