Scandinavian ceramic by Gunnar Nylund for Rorstrand. Large jug with hare fur glaze. Ceramic signed and stamped. This glaze gradient effect found in Nylund, Lindberg and others takes its name from an analogy with the hair of the hare.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
