Spectacular Domus chair, designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara as part of a series of furniture for the Domus Academica student residence complex in Helsinki. Its birch frame, with seat and backrest filled with polyurethane foam and upholstered in beige leather, make it comfortable enough to allow sitting for long periods of time. Its distinctive short arms allow the chair to be brought close to a table, which is perfect for studying at a desk and eating, while providing the necessary support and comfort, as well as saving space. The model soon became an international success, known as the "Finnish chair".
