Baardwerk
Slagharen, Netherlands
Product description
Are you a lover of authentic midcentury design? Then this particular coffee table by Bovenkamp is a unique opportunity. This elegant boomerang-shaped table is a wonderful example of the organic form language that was typical of Dutch design in the 1950s and 1960s - a time when Bovenkamp, in collaboration with Danish designers such as Aksel Bender Madsen, among others, brought Scandinavian aesthetics to the Netherlands.
Unique design and shaping
This coffee table features a striking, asymmetrical boomerang shape that gives the piece a dynamic look. Thanks to its airy design, the table fits beautifully into both modern, Scandinavian-inspired and more eclectic interiors. A real eye-catcher that is functional and stylish at the same time.
Materials and construction
The top is finished in a light, smooth surface of Formica, which contrasts beautifully with the black, wooden base.
The three slim, tapered legs give the table an elegant and sophisticated look.
The construction is solid and shows the craftsmanship that Bovenkamp is known for.
Condition
The table is in good vintage condition. There are traces of use appropriate to its age, but no disturbing damage. On the legs some black paint is gone, this gives a good indication of authenticity but if desired you can of course touch this up. The top has a small chip on 1 side of the formica, this is about 2 mm in size (see photo).
