This elegant floor lamp in the shape of a grasshopper, designed by Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen for Holm-Sørensen & Co, is a true mid-century icon. Holm-Sørensen (1913-2004) was a renowned Danish designer known for his distinctive lighting designs from the 1950s to 1970s, which are still highly sought after on the vintage market today. Before founding his own company, Holm-Sørensen A/S, he probably also designed lamps for such prestigious Danish manufacturers as Fog & Mørup and Lyfa.
The lamp features a slender, diagonally placed stem on a beautifully proportioned tripod base, combining functionality with style. The striking red-colored cone-shaped shade with perforated dot pattern creates a beautiful lighting effect and is fully adjustable via a brass hinge. Made of painted aluminum and steel with brass details, the lamp has a beautifully aged patina that enhances its vintage character.
