Product description
Mid-century, Scandinavian-style, folding magazine rack made of wood with a walnut finish on tapered legs, designed attributed to Cees Braakman from the 60's. Some similar models have been produced in former Yugoslavia but only have 5 rods. The Braakman production was essentially made in the Netherlands and Romania and have 6 rods . The rack features 6 dowel rods on one side, and on the other side, there are 7, carved, capsule- shapes, with one dowel rod at the top. The folding mechanisms work . Piece is in good, overall, vintage and original condition, with some old marks, dents / dings near the middle of the folding mechanism and signs of age of previous use commensurate with time on the overall structure (see photos.) A n old mark/ chip at the bottom point of one edge/ lower angle, (see photo), but nothing whatsoever that affects its functionality or beauty. It has maintained its nice, warm color and original patina of time. Piece has simply been gently dusted and polished, with respect to preserving its original patina of time. A great showcase or accent piece, that will look fantastic in a living room, den, office, bedroom or bathroom. All photos taken in natural, outdoor light, so colors may slightly vary, based upon brightness, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
