Extremely Rare Vintage 1970s Mazzega Murano Glass Hanging Pendant Light Fitting with Five Shades
This is a fine vintage pendant with an extremely rare 5 light fittings.
It's been lovingly restored and packed away for many years.
The light has a metal central ceiling fitting with mirror-finish (with very slight tarnish to the finish commensurate with age, but barely visible). The color on the ceiling disk is matte black - matches the decorative metal caps or holders which hold the shades on and allows the cable to pass through into the glass shade section. I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
There are five shades - all of which hang at different heights - there's plenty of wire that hides behind the ceiling disk, allowing you to alter the length to each shade to suit your preference.
The shades are made of a fine opaque milk glass - which graduates to clear glass at the bottom. Inside each milky shade are little colored details made of amber glass. The shades are said to have been inspired by flower heads and petals. Some people have also comically nicknamed them: Frying Egg Lamps!
The light fitting dates to the 1970s and originated in Italy. They were made by AV Mazzega.
These beauties are a very rare find; I challenge you to find another Mazzega Murano Glass pendant light with 5 shades still intact. They have survived in such fabulous condition because they have been packed away in storage for many years.
