In the fierce winds, the admiral's ship was separated from the fleet and blown closer and closer to the rocks. In an attempt to avert disaster, the admiral's loyal servant threw himself into the #sea as a sacrifice. Distraught by the loss of his friend, the admiral launched a boat in an attempt to save him, but the sea had already taken his life. At that moment the wind turned and the #ship was blown back out to sea and all were saved. The table is finished with black lacquer and eggshell. Japanese #ideograms finished with #gold leaf adorn each side. Each represents a symbol of good #luck 🍀. The table measures 174 cm x 88 cm x 37 cm. This item was made by David Ray himself.
