About this vintage design furniture

Mid-century modern Murano sommerso glass decanter designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Italy, 1960s). Stunning combination of colours (purple, blue and clear glass) using the Sommerso technique. Extremely decorative. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Height: 33 cm; length: 6 cm; width: 6 cm. Excellent vintage condition. "Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. Reference : 255978
