About this vintage design furniture
As early as the 1940s, he spontaneously introduced the notions of creation and aesthetics into the realization of everyday objects, privileging rattan and metal. His stroke of genius was to use, before anyone else, from 1945, perforated sheet metal, a material discovered during his captivity in Germany. Inventing a new technique, he created a new material: he first perforated the sheet metal classically with cloverleaf patterns and then with small square or round holes. In 1952 he named this openwork mesh "Rigitulle". He developed a machine capable of folding, creasing and shaping the sheet metal like a fabric, which gave him a greater freedom of expression.in good condition. Shows signs of wear such as scratches, and light discoloration. Patina consistent with age and use.
