About this vintage design furniture

The EA aluminum chair is one of the strongest furniture designs of the twentieth century. Charles and Ray Eames designed and developed this chair in 1958 for the private home of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). For the construction, Charles and Ray abandoned the idea of the seat shell and spanned a fabric or leather panel between two aluminum profiles, creating a firm yet flexible seat. The chair adapts to the body and is extremely comfortable, even without inner upholstery. This design is still for sale in the market! The Aluminum Chair EA 124 is the lounge model par excellence of the Aluminum Group designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The extraordinary comfort is due to the extra high backrest, the head cushion and the tilt mechanism, which can be adjusted to the weight of the user. The swivel chair EA 124 is supplemented with the footstool EA 125. Together they form the perfect place for a long, cozy evening with a good book. The set is in very good condition consistent with age and use. Reference : 251323
