About this vintage design furniture
The "Butterfly" chair, an iconic design from Dutch designer Gerard van den Berg, was manufactured in the early 1980s by Montis. This very comfortable chair features a black metal frame covered with mesh, and a red leather cushion. The inspiration of the designer came from making a hole in the sand on the beach. The leather is in a very good vintage condition and is supple.

About the designer
Gerard VAN DER BERG
Gerrit (Gerard) Van Der Berg (1947-2011) was a Dutch designer known for his modern, functional furniture creations. He studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and began his career as an industrial designer at Gispen, a Dutch furniture company.
