Vintage eye coffee table with Sicilian marble, France 1980

Rare oval shaped coffee table with free form legs made in France in the early 1980's from a beautiful Pyrenean marble called Breche de Benou or Breche de Vendome. Each foot, made of solid marble, is finished with a brass disc. The Breche du Benou has a multi-colored gravelly structure in intense shades of yellow and green, even pink. It is a very precious marble, which has always been used for important achievements such as the decorations of the Palace of Versailles, including its most famous fireplaces, and the interiors of famous historical buildings throughout Europe. It is very rare to find it today. This table has been completely repolished, and is in superb condition. Reference : 245031
