About this vintage design furniture

This Mid Century Modern dining table is made of solid Ash with a beautiful grain and tapering slender table legs. It operates as an extendable table, with a full length of 160 cm. Extending the table is very easy - the two sides simply slide outwards, the extra middle part is hidden underneath the main tabletop and can be easily slotted into the right position. Frantisek Jirak, the designer of this table was one of the most important figures of the Czech Mid 20th century furniture design. His work was clearly inspired by Charles and Ray Eames as well as the Scandinavian designers. Jirak designed several pieces that are now considered as iconic. This piece was produced in the 1960s and it still holds a great design appeal and is the great addition to a collector’s home. This table is in perfect vintage condition. The wooden frame, legs and the table top have been all cleaned and refurbished to its former glory. The entire piece has been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve the original finish. There is only absolutely minimal wear acquired over the years. Reference : 244227
