Vintage oakwood stool, France 1950s

Vintage stool circa 1950s. This is a good size stool, made by a craftsman/woodworker, in solid oak and originating from the dordogne/perigord region in southwestern France. Very nice wood carving typical of the period on the corners of each leg (see pictures). The piece has been preserved as close as possible to its original state. The top has been sanded and waxed with natural beeswax to show its wonderful patina. The frame and legs have been left with the color in which they were made or repainted years ago. The color is a very light/pale gray. There are faded colors and crumpled paint sanded off the legs and footrest. The piece has been cleaned, brushed, treated and waxed. The stool is in good overall original and vintage condition with marks, signs of age from previous use on the overall structure and top (see photos).The stool has four footrests. The piece is solid and stable. Wonderful accent piece for modern, vintage, rustic or even contemporary rustic decor. Reference : 239642
