About this vintage design furniture

Set of 3 modules of Cameroonian habitats designed by Jean ProuvéCirca 1950.Condition: the panels were sanded and varnished.Visible defects in photos as some holes, cracks, traces of rust, etc.A panel consists of two lateral wooden posts with grooves in which come to lodge the ends of 7 large horizontal waves in aluminum sheet. The perforations are made to provide diffused lighting and ventilation of the room. The standardized and combinable panels were designed in many versions, some of which could include components providing additional comfort elements such as vents and portholes.Dimensions: W: 176 cm x H: 271 cm x D: 11 cm Reference : 239589

About the designer

Jean PROUVE

1901 - 1984

Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) was a French designer and builder. Born in Nancy, he began working in his father's iron workshop before studying art and design at the École de Nancy. In the 1920s, he began designing metal furniture and founded his own company, Ateliers Jean Prouvé, in 1923.
