Mid-Century Worcester Ware Chinoiserie Pewter Magazine Rack and Matching Trash CanProposed for sale and sold as a single lot is a pair of mid-century Worcester Ware magazine racks or newspaper racks, dating from the 1960s, with a matching pewter trash can. Finished in black lacquer with gilded Chinoiserie or Japanese scenes.Chinoiserie is a decorative style inspired by the art and design of Asia, particularly China and Japan. Its name comes from the French word chinois, which means "Chinese". This style of decoration was very popular in the UK and Europe in the 1950's and 1960's.Magazine 28H x39W x16Bin 30H x 22W x 22DRcondition report:Overall in very good condition, there are some stains and use marks in places.
