About this vintage design furniture
An original stool by Pierre Jeanneret was designed in 1955. The wooden seat is marked on the side and comes on three-legged or round metal construction. The stool definitely lives through its patina, a remarkable object. Considering India in the 1950s and later, Jeanneret adapted his modernistic vision to the traditional handcraft. The use of local materials such as teak, leather, and cane determined the furniture design. Manufactured by Chandigarh, India. The price is per stool, we have seven of these chairs available. Three of them have a three-legged construction and the four others have a round construction making them a playful set. Swiss-born Pierre Jeanneret was an architect and furniture designer. For many years he was in cooperation with French Designer Charlotte Perriand and moreover a partner of his famous cousin Le Corbusier. In 1950, the two men were the principal project managers for the construction of the city of Chandigarh, India.
