About this vintage design furniture
Diamond faceted sommerso cup by Alessandro Mandruzzato (Murano), Italy, 1970s. Extremely decorative. Can be used as a bowl, pocket-allvide-catcher, ashtray or simply as a decorative object on any table. Colors: blue, yellow and transparent. Width: 10,5 cm; depth: 9 cm; height: 5,5 cm. Excellent vintage condition. Sommerso (Italian for "submerged") is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s that became very popular in the 1950s and 1970s. The result is a glass with contrasting colors that is usually covered with a transparent layer.
