Vintage armchair with footrest by Cor Alons for De Boer Gouda, Netherlands 1950

A fantastic armchair with a matching footstool, designed by Cor Alons and manufactured by De Boer Gouda in the Netherlands around 1950. This is a very rare set of Dutch design in a truly beautiful style. The set includes an armchair and a footstool, both in the eye-catching and iconic Cor Alons style. The plywood base is made of high quality light brown wood, slightly bent into shape. Both pieces are upholstered in ice blue skai (faux leather) and the chair has a black skai upholstered back that completes the piece nicely. This set is an exquisite find of Dutch design, the pieces are sold together so the price is for the set. The set remains in very good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
