Exceptional Scandinavian enfilade by Danish designer Kurt Østervig edited by Brande Møbelfabrik.Kurt Østervig is probably one of the most recognized Scandinavian designers.His work is focused on wood; the very essence of wood represents for him the heart of all furniture.He designed during the 1950s and 1960s, remarkable pieces, including enfilades, some of which are exhibited in major museums such as the MoMA in New York.This enfilade is made of teak wood and has a light patina.it is composed of 4 sliding doors and 3 drawers.you can easily see the symmetry of the wood grain on these doors.this is the result of an exceptional work of cutting of the rosewood veneer.the 2 doors on the left reveal a series of 6 drawers lined with a green felt on the far left and a shelf with a mirror just beside. The two doors on the right reveal a large compartment with two shelves, underneath is a large central drawer and two smaller ones on the sides. The wood grain is magnificent, especially on the top and the ribs where the knots and veins of the rosewood blend together to form magnificent patterns.The furniture has a beautiful finish on the frame and handles, the color contrast is subtle, the lines are minimalist and the proportions are elegant.This is undoubtedly an exceptional piece of work in every respect.As is often the case, the Danish furniture control pad has come off.
