Vintage steel armchair "Fjord" by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso, 2002
About this vintage design furniture
From the broken fragment of a seashell, smoothed by the waves, Patricia Urquiola designs a collection of seating for the home and public spaces. The Scandinavian influence, evoked by the name itself, is found in the reference to Arne Jacobsen and in the presence of an elongated cup, a metaphor for the inlets of the Nordic coast. As in a natural cycle, the shell of the chair, regenerated by time and water, becomes an armchair, then a stool again. The broken form, starting from an abstract concept, is transformed into a design object: soft lines that support and welcome, underlined by the precision of the visible seams in continuous harmony with the essentiality of the structure.Swivel armchair in fireproof cold foam with internal steel structure. Square base in powder-coated steel.
