About this vintage design furniture

This sculptural tripod chair, 'SE42', was designed by one of Germany's most prominent post-war architects and industrial designers, Egon Eiermann, for Wilde + Spieth in 1949. The three-legged chair is made of molded ash plywood and has rubber shock mounts between the seat, back and base. Egon Eiermann's designs are characterized by simplicity, immediate recognition of function and the strictest geometry. The chair has been restored and shows light wear consistent with age and use.
