Vintage walnut sideboard by A.A. Patijn for Zijlstra, Dutch 1950

Buffet with top cabinet and bar designed by A.A. Patijn for the Dutch furniture factory Zijlstra, 1950s. This buffet with round sides is part of the Poly-Z series. The round shapes are very characteristic of A.A. Patijn's designs. This sideboard has a bar, four dust-free drawers (with round sides, like Cees Braakman) for easy cleaning, a bookcase and two storage cabinets on the bottom right. The condition is still very good and original with slight traces of age and use. Material : Wood, veneer, walnut, glass and brass. Dimensions : h x w x d 130 x 204 x 44 cm. Patijn, also designed the KLM De wide view restaurant at Schiphol in 1953 and the KLM Biak hotel in New Guinea ((design and furnishings) in 1955.
