About this vintage design furniture
Danish bench bed Model FD 451 by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Nielsen for the publisher France and Søn in 1956. Original green woolen fabric on upholstery style mattress with its condition of use for its age. Stamped FD. Structure in solid teak and cane in very good condition. Ingenious system of conversion: the armrests are tilted thanks to a brass button that unlocks a sliding bar. This makes it possible to obtain a bed of rest or an auxiliary bed. L: 162 cm H: 75 cm h seat 43cm. D: 80 cm. Unfolded length 220 cm.

Peter HVIDT & Orla MOLGAARD NIELSEN
Hvidt & Mølgaard Nielsen is a mid-20th-century Danish design duo consisting of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen. Peter Hvidt was born in Copenhagen in 1916 and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before working as a designer for various companies. Orla Mølgaard Nielsen was born in Copenhagen in 1907 and also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, before working as an architect and designer.
