Pair of vintage 7022 chairs by Roland Rainer for Wilkhahn, 1965

A set of 2 model 7022 designed by Roland Rainer in 1965 in very good condition. The chairs stand out in their appearance due to the minimalistic backrest made of rosewood. The wood on both chairs shows slight signs of wear, as do the metal frames. The seat got a new cover in a moss green velvet fabric. More than 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946, contact was made with the Deutsche Werkstätten with the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the tradition of the Bauhaus.
