About this vintage design furniture
Pair of mid-century earthenware candleholders by Ivan Weiss for Royal Copenhagen These candleholders were designed by Nils Thorsson as part of the Baca series. Ivan Weiss designed the abstract floral pattern in the colors white, yellow and brown. They are made of ceramic. The Baca series consists of about 94 shapes, with about 105 different designs or motifs. A glazing technique was developed by Nils to make each piece slightly different, giving them a handmade look due to the nature of the glaze. Marked and numbered on the bottom. The Baca and Tenera series pieces are marked with two numbers on the countermark. The number on the top line is the design number, and the bottom number is the shape number.
