About this vintage design furniture
ROBERT HERITAGE (BRITISH, b. 1927) FOR ARCHIE SHINE, BRITAIN: A ’Hamilton’ teak and rosewood cocktail cabinet, with a pair of cupboard doors opening to reveal a section with a glass shelf and a pull-out serving flap, above a frieze drawer with fluted design to the front, with two further doors below, with cylindrical tapering legs. Robert Heritage was born in 1927 in Birmingham, England. After studying at the Royal College of Art, London he began working as a designer for the London-based furniture manufacturer G.W. Evans (1951-53). Following this Robert Heritage and his wife Dorothy set up their own studio and worked for a number of manufacturers including G.W. Evans Beaver & Tapley, Shannon, Slumberland, Race Furniture, and Archie Shine. Condition report: the sideboard is in very good condition but it may show slight traces of use, the doors and drawer open and close smoothly and as does the pull-out laminate tray, lovely patterned rosewood grain to the front doors. There are two very small lighter areas to the lower front right door and one on the left side, there is a small dent on the right side, and the two back legs are darker than the front ones but it is almost unnoticeable when standing in front of the cabinet. Everything has been tried to be reflected on the pictures. Dimensions Height: 127cm Width: 83.5cm Depth: 45cm
