About this vintage design furniture

This Austrian Mid-Century Modern vintage sofa or daybed model Constanze with wooden Base and renewed cognac Leather Upholstery was designed by Johannes Spalt 1961 for Wittmann, Etsdorf, Austria. It is very easy to handle by one hand to make the change from sofa to daybed. Beautiful and very high quality technique. Iconic statement piece, which also could be used as freestanding sofa through its beautiful backside. The cognac brown quilted leather upholstery shows leather buttons and is in excellent condition. The sofa works perfect with contemporary environment as well as mid century modern interiors. Johannes Spalt ( 1920 - 2010 ) was like Roland Rainer or Oswald Haerdtl one of the most important Austrian Post War architects. He had great partnerships with Wilhelm Holzbauer, Friedrich Kurrent and Otto Leitner and created many furniture designs for Wittmann furniture workshop.
