About this vintage design furniture

This classic teak bookcase and secretarie was designed by Johannes Sorth in the 1960s. It is a marvelous example of high-quality Danish mid-century carpentry combined elegance and functionalism. The bookcase features two ajustable shelves chest of 3 drawers and also a secretaire with a pull-out desk with many small compartments, and three small drawers hidden behind tambour doors. This piece of furniture can help one create a discreet space for a home office while ensuring just enough place for storage, books, and decorations. The unit stands on a solid teak base. The rest is made out of teak veneer with solid teak accents. Overall is in excellent original vintage condition with minor traces of use. About the designer

Johannes SORTH

Johannes Sorth was a renowned Danish designer who was born in 1937 and died in 2017. He is best known for his work in industrial design, particularly for his elegant modern furniture designs. Sorth studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1963.
