Danish teak modular wall unit by Preben Sørensen for PS System Randers, Denmark 1960s. Danish mid-century modern three bay wall mounted shelving unit in teak. This set consists of the following elements: - 4 Uprights in stained beech, length: 198 cm - 1 Cabinet with double sliding doors, size: 40 x 80 x 50 cm - 1 Drawer unit with four wide drawers, size: 40 x 80 x 50 cm - 1 Drawer unit with two drawers side by side, size: 33 x 80 x 14 cm - 1 Vitrine unit with etched glass sliding doors, size: 33 x 80 x 35 cm - 2 Shelves, depth 20 cm - 1 Shelf, depth 25 cm - 2 Teak bookends All parts in this shelving unit are modular and can be arranged to suit individual needs. Combines bookcase, cabinet, vitrine, chest of drawers and shelves in one practical and elegant unit. Can also be configured as two individual one bay systems. Makers mark inside top drawer. Good original vintage condition with normal signs of wear. Scratches on top of cabinet. Veneer repairs on sliding doors. Gently cleaned and polished. Ready for use.

About the designer

Henning SORENSEN

Henning Sorensen was a Danish designer known for his elegant, modern furniture. Born in 1926, Sorensen began his career as an apprentice in a Copenhagen carpentry workshop. He went on to work for leading Danish furniture manufacturers such as Fritz Hansen and Fredericia Furniture.
