About this vintage design furniture

This chandelier was designed by Tapio Wirkkala and produced by the Finlnish manufacturer Idman during the 1950s. The light features a rosewood ceiling mount, a black lacquered metal frame, and smoked glass pendant lights. The height can be adjusted. It is signed Idman and there is a small chip on one of the glass shade.

Tapio Wirkkala was a Finnish designer and artist born on June 2, 1915 in Hanko, Finland, and died on May 19, 1985 in Helsinki. He is considered one of Finland's most important designers and left his mark on the history of 20th-century Scandinavian design.
