Ceramiche Flavia was founded in 1921 by Guido Bitossi. From 1946 to 1976, under the artistic direction of Aldo Londi, the factory worked with a number of outside artists, including, starting in the late 1950s, Ettore Sottsass. From the 1980s, Giovanni Masone took over as artistic director and invited members of the Memphis Group, including Piero Fornasetti, to collaborate. (source: British Museum)
