About this vintage design furniture

A beautiful two-seater sofa designed by world renowned furniture designer Carl Malmsten. An early example of his Samsas sofa a simple and elegant design with beautifully soft organic curves really define this piece. We have had the sofa stripped back repaired and reupholstered in a mustard linen fabric for the front and the back and sides in a stylized floral embroidery fabric which is very reminiscent of Swedish fabric designs of the period by Josef Frank. I am particularly pleased with the look and feel of the two fabrics and how they work so well together. It’s a bit of a bold choice but it really elevates this piece highlighting its shape and design. Finished off with soft gold trimmings, newly French polished legs and two additional feather cushions in both the embroidery and linen fabric to bring a bit of the beautiful embroidery to the front if you desire. A fine example this piece has been carefully cleaned restored and reupholstered with GP & J Baker and Tinsmiths fabrics to look amazing in any interior.
