Isao Hosoe writes: "The idea originated from small canisters for transporting liquids. Although once the light bulb was placed inside, the diffused light was pleasant, the shape was not suitable because it did not allow sufficient heat dispersion. So I decided on a round shape, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use thanks to the spartan character of the materials used and the construction details." The Tama lamp can be used in a wide variety of ways: indoors or outdoors, on the floor or on a small table or piece of furniture, resting on the white globe or on the cap, hung by the handle from a hook fixed to the wall, or suspended from the ceiling.
