Rare and old Fritz Hansen sewing box. Designed by Søren Hansen 1933. Dark, almost black wood frame with beech sewing box. 2 flaps with leather straps. Inside with sliding compartment.All in original stand .The piece has been carefully refreshed. Produced in 1930s. At an exhibition in Fredericia, Denmark, in 1933, it met with a great response thanks to the detailed work. The box went into production and was part of the Fritz Hansen collection for several years. The box is made of laminated beech veneer with a black coated wood frame and the lid is fastened with leather straps. In original good vintage stand. Ready to use. Old lovely patina. About the designer
Fritz HANSEN
Fritz Hansen was a Danish furniture designer born in 1847 in Tønder, a small town in Denmark. He began his career as a carpenter and went on to found his own furniture manufacturing company in 1872.
