About this vintage design furniture
Gijs van der Sluis sofa daybed (model 540) designed for Van der Sluis Stalen Meubelen, Culemborg (Netherlands) in 1961. This beautiful design classic has been reupholstered with new beige Ploeg fabric. The seat of this sofa can be pulled forward with one hand movement, creating a single bed. This is an original vintage sofa from the 1970s. The condition is very good again because of the re-upholstery (with Ploeg fabric). Material: metal. wood, foam and Ploeg fabric. Dimensions: h x w x d 73 x 192 x 78 cm and the seat height 43 cm. The dimensions of the bed are: 192 x 70 cm.

About the designer
Gijs VAN DER SLUIS
Geert Van Der Sluis (1941-2008) was a Dutch designer specializing in office furniture. He studied furniture design at the Groningen School of Art in the Netherlands, where he later taught for several years.
