Nils Thorsson for Baca vase in Copenhagen alumina earthenware, abstract design, ca. 1960s Beautiful pieces of high-level Danish craftsmanship, signed and numbered Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) first appeared as an artist when he exhibited a series of vases, (the Autumn Series) in 1925 that were awarded a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition. From 1930, he became artistic director of the Aluminia factory and from 1949, he had artistic supervision of the stoneware department of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory. Thorsson's work is represented in the Copenhagen Museum of Fine Arts, the Royal Institute of Technology, the Museum of the Porcelain Factory, the Victoria

Nils THORSSON

Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) was a Danish designer, known for his work in the ceramics industry. He worked for the Royal Copenhagen company for over 60 years, where he designed numerous models of ceramic tableware and figurines.
