About this vintage design furniture

Office of the Bauhaus current by the architect and German designer Franz Ehrlich for the furniture factory VEB Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau. This very atypical office is entirely made of burr walnut. This particular desk has a veneer rich in veining and contrast typical of the use of burr walnut, found at the base of the trunk. The size of this desk is interesting. At the front, there is a central drawer and two doors, one of them with large drawers and the other with a pull-out dividing the space in two. At the rear, a magnificent niche, shelf, also walnut veneered, offers another very interesting storage capacity. The shelf is covered with safety glass. The desk rests on four legs, also walnut veneered. The key working on the 3 locks is present. Slight restorations visible on one side. Note that the desk has been entirely varnished with a pad varnish.
