About this vintage design furniture
In 1955, Dutch industrial designers Rob Parry and Emile Truijen designed a project chair for the new office of the Dutch state mining company ("Staatsmijnen"). These Staatsmijnen chairs were never mass-produced, until 1990 with a slightly different re-edition. This set is from the series of original projects. Both parts are in their original condition. Grey - bluish fake leather upholstery on a grey metal frame. The frame is in good condition, the upholstery shows minor traces of use, and one chair has a minor loss on one edge and a pin is missing on the back (all these parts are shown in the pictures). The chairs can be used as is. Seat height: 46 cm. Rob Parry started his career in Gerrit Rietveld's studio. While Rietveld focused solely on modernist shapes, forms and ideas, Rob Parry added elegant and humane user-friendliness and comfort to his designs. Parry designed a variety of articles, which were and are hardly known because they were made for private customers and therefore never in large series.
