About this vintage design furniture
Dining chairs in black leatherette leather with black metal legs, a classic of Dutch design. Gijs van der Sluis was a mid-century Dutch furniture designer. He started his own company ''van der Sluis stalen meubelen'' (van der Sluis steel furniture) in 1950, which was active until 1990. With his company he created some of the most famous Dutch design objects of the middle of the century. Slight wear is in accordance with age and use. Small cracks in one side of the corners of two chairs (see photos). Material: Black leather upholstery, black lacquered metal feet. About the designer
Gijs VAN DER SLUIS
Geert Van Der Sluis (1941-2008) was a Dutch designer specializing in office furniture. He studied furniture design at the Groningen School of Art in the Netherlands, where he later taught for several years.
