Beautiful glass Carrara marble coffee Table, K1000, Team Form AG, Ronald Schmitt, 1975
This white marble and glass coffee table, model K1000, was created by Team Form AG for Ronald Schmitt in 1975.
What makes the item rather minimalist is the use of few materials. The table is composed of a solid Carrara marble cylindrical base, with a seemingly floating glass surface in an oval shape on top.
These two elements are held together by small metal attachments.
Today this item is still considered a modern classic.
The Swiss designers of Team Form created this iconic K1000 coffee table with its sloping marble column base.
This piece is an interesting and inventive design, highlighting the interaction between gravity and balance.
A design that is characterized by a strong contrast between a massive stone base and a clear glass top.
It is in good condition, with some normal traces of use.
The glass has a tiny crack (see the picture).
