About this vintage design furniture
Murano glass sommerso bowl by Luigi Mandruzzato (Italy), 1960s. "Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. The bottom half of this bowl has a textured surface. The upper side is completely smooth. Colours: clear, yellow and fuchsia. Height: 9 cm; Diameter: 15 cm. This piece is quite large, usually this type of bowls are smaller. Excellent vintage condition.
